For those of you who do not know (which is most of you) I have begun a new position at the middle school... Rather then working in the classroom for children with significant support needs (physical and intellectual needs) I will be working with children who have emotional disabilities.
The fact that they have emotional disabilities means that they lack the ability to process their feelings and emotions... this makes it tough to understand when they are acting out for attention or when they are acting out because of their emotion difficulties. Today was my third day with these kids and it is not easy! I am waiting for the day where I can blog about being hit!
I love these kids, I love my lot in life, and I love that God has given me the heart and the ability to work with these kids... but on days like today I wonder how I will ever be able to go on! Now Ben and I have more stories to swap and kids to compare. Each day is a new day as I grow trust and friendship, as we grow to trust and respect one another more things will get easier... hopefully!

Yay for getting hit, kicked, spat on, bit, and told you're going to have your eyes gouged out and you're going to be chopped into tiny little pieces at work. :-) I hear you all the way!
